Captain Morgan Has A Gingerbread-Flavored Rum, So You Can Make A Spice-Filled Cocktail
When planning your Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus, you don’t want to forget about the cocktails. How else are you supposed to wash down that honey glazed ham? Captain Morgan is giving us all a festive sip by bringing back its Gingerbread Spiced rum.
The cookie-inspired flavor first came out in 2019, and luckily, it’s back on shelves now for the 2020 holiday season. The rum is distilled with the taste of gingerbread to really bring that seasonal spiced flavor that we all know and love from gingerbread cookies. Captain Morgan is already known for its spiced rum, so this gingerbread element is going to make it even more Christmas-ready.
The limited-edition Captain Morgan Gingerbread Spiced is available on shelves now, as well as at online retailers — including Drizly — for around $14.99. The 750-milliliter bottle has 30% ABV, so you can get through family time (or Zoom calls) with a nice buzz.
While you can use this flavored rum just as you would any other (hello, rum and coke!), Captain Morgan has some recipes that will be the stars of Christmas. The Gingerbread Hot Apple Cider is simply made with the Gingerbread Spiced and apple cider, and garnished with a cinnamon stick and apple slice. For a sweet dessert cocktail, the Holiday Martini is made with Gingerbread Spiced, Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur, cold-brew coffee, and simple syrup with shaved chocolate on top.
We may not have finished our Christmas shopping yet, but at least we know what we’re sipping on Dec. 25, right?
